Clark is sick!

Clark has been extremely healthy in his first 15 moths of life. His antibiotic free life came to an end yesterday as he was diagnosed with strep throat. He has to be fever free and on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to daycare, so today Clark and I got to spend the day at home relaxing. Here are a few images from our day.

Photo one: Clark thinks tape is pretty cool. For 20 minutes, Clark ripped tape (with my help) from the roll.
Photo two: Clark cried. Hey, it's tough being sick.
Photo three: It is unseasonably warm, so we went for a long walk.
Photo four (not included, so please imagine): Clark was asleep upon return from the walk, so I scooped him up and let him sleep on my chest. I watched 60 minutes from Sunday which was about people who do crazy things for adreniline rushes. Google birdmen and Alex Honnold.
Photo five: Clark tried to play with Rory by laying down near her.

Valentine's Day

We had an awesome Valentine's Day!! Valentine's Day was also election day and there was a heated school board election in our neighborhood. Clark and I started off the day by voting and then grabbing coffee. FYI: This is considered a PERFECT morning for me. I love voting and I love it more when I feel like my vote is actually making a difference. That afternoon I attended a Valentine's Day party at Clark's school. He seems to have Mark and my sweet tooth as his first food pick was heart shaped marshmallows. See below for pictures of him shoving the marshmallow in his mouth:) That night we had a homemade heart shaped pizza (a tradition Mark and I started 7 years ago!) and attended the victory/watch party for our school board pick. All in all it was a perfect day!

Garage Apartment

One of the bonuses of our house is a room behind the garage. The room is a great space for guest. When we first moved in, one of our friends actually lived in the apartment for a couple of weeks. While our friends and family have enjoyed the room, I am sure many thought it could use pick me up. The room had carpet that covered stains well. It also had linoleum that was starting to peel. This fall we had the place spruced up. We put in wood (fake) floors and tile, took out the pseudo kitchenette and had it repainted. It looks so much better. Below are some before (first two) and after (last two) pictures:
